The big leaves of Bird of Paradise can add a strong tropical vibe to your place. It is normal to see split leaves but a humid environment can help prevent it.

Plant Care

When to Water
Medium Frequency - Water When the middle layer of soil is dry

Check the soil moisture level every 7 to 9 days.
Remove some of the pine bark on the soil and stick your finger or stick 5-7cm deep into the topsoil to see if it is dry. [if there are no soil stick in your finger or stick, it means the soil is dry]
Depending on the actual environment and plant conditions, adjustments may be needed.

The watering schedule may be less frequent during the winter month

Watering Volume

When you water, you can use 800ml as a testing point for floor plants and 250ml for table plants, evenly pour over the soil (not necessarily to remove the pine bark).

Artstone planters have a built-in self-watering mechanism. This works with a disk that separates the plant and soil from a reservoir which stores water at the bottom part of the pot. The roots of the plants will draw water from the reservoir via capillary action.

Watering Remarks

#Curl leaves and brown on the edge are the sign of underwatering
#Yellow leaves is a sign of overwatering

#Cleaning the leaves is important for the big leaves plant as the dirt disturbs the plant to photosynthesize more efficiently.
#Spray the plant at night can reduce the split leaves
#Split leaves is the normal reaction of Bird of paradise to against the windy environment

Indoor Plant: We suggest removing the plug every 2-3 months, removing the excessive water. Remove the plug at the vase of the pot until all the excess water drains out from the pot. Re-insert the plug and place it back indoors.
Outdoor Plant: We suggest removing the plug for outdoor usage.
